EDICT® is a suite of Model Based Engineering tools based on the EDICT® Modeler platform. This platform provides a central way to bring together information for stakeholders throughout a system design lifecycle. EDICT® provides tools for the ideation, design, evaluation, analysis, certification and documentation of complex designs across multiple domains.

Models built graphically in EDICT are represented in Architecture Analysis and Design Language (AADL).  In addition, EDICT can input and output AADL representations of models.

EDICT^® is not a native AADL editor. It provides modeling capabilities that are more extensive and richer than what AADL can support.  However, EDICT® provides extensive support for the AADL language through the optional AADL Adapter Extension. This extension supports importing AADL designs, exporting to AADL models, and integrating with other AADL tools such as OSATE.

EDICT® is designed and built as a completely modular toolset. EDICT® is built using Eclipse technology, which provides a modular and extensible framework for applications and integration between Eclipse tools. This allows EDICT to be configured with the specific toolset configuration needed by any customer.

EDICT® is a fully-supported commercial application that can be purchased by customers. EDICT® supports use by both individual users, as well as a team of users across multiple workspaces and development roles. A variety of commercial and enterprise workflows are supported, including revision control tools, model distribution restrictions, and diversification of team roles.

EDICT® uses the XML language to persist project materials and designs in a standardized manner.

• EDICT^® Project visual components can be exported as an HTML report set.
• System Architectures can be exported to AADL or as XML or CSV models.
• Individual architecture diagrams can be exported to images.
